Powerful Duas for Protection from the Evil Eye

The evil eye is real, and the Prophet ﷺ confirmed that it can cause genuine harm. Yet Allah has given the believer powerful means of protection. Regular recitation of the following verses and duas builds a fortress around you by the permission of Allah.

The Protective Surahs

Recite Surah al-Falaq and Surah an-Nas every morning and evening, and three times before sleep. These two surahs were revealed specifically as protection from envy and every hidden harm. The Prophet ﷺ never omitted them.

Ayatul Kursi

Reciting Ayatul Kursi after every prayer and before sleeping places you under Allah protection until the next morning. It is the greatest verse in the Quran and a shield against harm.

Seeking Refuge

Say the words of complete refuge: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created. The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever says this three times will not be harmed by anything until they move from that place.

Protecting Children

The Prophet ﷺ used to seek protection for al-Hasan and al-Husayn by saying: I seek refuge for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, poisonous creature and every envious evil eye. Blow gently over your children with these words and trust Allah to guard them.
