The Virtues of Dhikr: Why Remembrance of Allah Transforms the Heart

Allah says: "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." (Quran 13:28) Dhikr — the remembrance of Allah — is among the easiest acts of worship, yet its reward is immense.

Words Light on the Tongue, Heavy on the Scale

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Two words are light on the tongue, heavy on the Scale, and beloved to the Most Merciful: SubhanAllahi wa bihamdih, SubhanAllahil-Azim." (Bukhari)

Saying "SubhanAllah" 33 times, "Alhamdulillah" 33 times, and "Allahu Akbar" 34 times after each prayer is a well-established Sunnah with tremendous reward.

The Hundred Tasbih

Whoever says "SubhanAllahi wa bihamdih" one hundred times a day will have his sins forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea. (Bukhari & Muslim) A digital tasbih counter makes it easy to keep track of your daily dhikr wherever you are.

Dhikr Throughout the Day

Morning and evening adhkar fortify the believer against harm. Dhikr before sleep brings peace. Istighfar opens doors of provision. The tongue that is moist with the remembrance of Allah was described by the Prophet ﷺ as the best of provisions for the believer.

Start Small, Stay Consistent

The most beloved deeds to Allah are the most consistent, even if small. Set a daily target — even 100 tasbih — and build the habit of a heart connected to its Lord.
