Honey is read by its purity and by what is done with it. Clean honey eaten by itself is the settled reading: healing, lawful wealth, and knowledge that agrees with the one who takes it. Honey given to someone else is read as passing on a benefit — teaching, treating, or providing. Honey mixed with something else, or adulterated, turns the reading toward a good that has had something added to it that does not belong: a truth with an interest attached. Gathering honey from a hive without being stung is read as a benefit obtained from a difficult source with the difficulty avoided; being stung while taking it as a benefit that costs something. Honey that is bitter or spoiled is read as a remedy that has become the opposite. Buying or being given a large quantity is read as provision rather than as sweetness. Honey spilled or wasted has been read as a benefit not used while it was there.
The basis is explicit in the Qur'an and does not need to be inferred. The chapter named after the bee describes what comes out of its bellies as a drink of varying colours in which there is healing for people (an-Nahl 16:69). Every reading of honey in the tradition — healing, lawful sweetness, knowledge that benefits — comes down from that verse, and the association with knowledge in particular comes from the same comparison: something gathered patiently from many sources and stored, which is exactly how the older scholars described learning.
A dream of honey is not a cure and not a diagnosis, and it is worth saying plainly to anyone who arrived here because someone is ill: a dream is not medicine and does not report on anyone's recovery. It establishes no ruling. Most of what a sleeper sees belongs to his own day and his own hope. If the dream disturbed you, seek refuge in Allah, turn onto your other side, and do not relate it to anyone.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
