A necklace is read by what it is made of, who put it on, and whether it stays where it belongs. Being given a necklace by someone you respect is read as a trust handed over — a responsibility, a post, or knowledge you are now expected to carry visibly. A necklace of pearls or fine stones turns the reading toward learning and speech of value. A necklace that is too tight, or that pulls at the neck, is read as an obligation heavier than the one who took it expected. A broken necklace, or beads scattering, reads as something entrusted coming apart, or a group held together by one person dispersing. Putting a necklace on someone else is read as passing a duty on. A necklace of iron or of something worthless is the sombre reading, an obligation carried without honour in it.
The reading rests on a plain fact of the thing: a necklace sits at the throat, in full view, and is worn rather than held. So it stands for anything a person is answerable for in public — office, guardianship, a promise, knowledge one is known to have. Arabic keeps the same image in everyday speech, where a favour or a duty is said to be placed around the neck. That is the whole basis.
This is not a sign about marriage, money or status arriving, and it is not a ruling on anything. A gift recently received, a piece of jewellery worn every day, or a responsibility weighing on you before sleep will each produce this dream on their own. Read it, if you read it at all, as a question about what you are carrying — not as news. If it left you uneasy, the taught response is to seek refuge in Allah, turn to your other side, and not pass the dream around.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
