An injury is read by who caused it, where it is, and whether it heals. A wound that heals in the dream is the good reading throughout: a hurt that has already begun to close, or a right that is being returned. A wound that keeps bleeding or will not close is read as a grievance still open — and the interpreters put that grievance between people, not in the body. Being injured by someone known shifts the whole dream onto that relationship: a word said, a trust handled badly. Being injured by a stranger, or by nothing the dreamer can see, was read as harm from a quarter he has not accounted for. An injury that does not hurt is read favourably, as something borne without it costing him. Injuring someone else turns the reading around onto the dreamer's own conduct, and the older readings treated it as a warning about his tongue before anything else. An old scar is read as a matter finished but remembered.
Arabic gives this one a real basis. Jarḥ is a wound, and the same word is the technical term for impugning a man's reliability — to "wound" a narrator is to damage his standing, not his body. The transfer from injury to injured reputation is built into the language, which is why the interpreters read a wound as a hurt done between people. Where the dreamer bleeds and where it stains is read along the same lines as blood is.
This is a dream people arrive at frightened, so it should be said flatly: a dream of injury is not a warning of an accident, not a diagnosis, and not a sign about anyone's safety. It is not a ruling. Real pain, a recent hurt, and worry about someone in danger all produce this dream by themselves. If it frightened you, the response taught is to seek refuge in Allah, turn onto your other side, and not to relate it to anyone.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
