Iron is read by whether it is worked or merely held. Working iron — forging, hammering, shaping it is read as effort that is hard and yields something lasting; the older readings put the labour in the foreground, not the metal. Being given iron is read as strength placed in one's hands, and what is made of it decides the rest: a tool is capacity, a weapon is power, a chain is constraint. Iron that is rusted is read as strength gone unused, a means kept until it no longer serves. Carrying a great weight of iron is read as a burden with value in it — heavy, but not wasted. An iron door or an iron wall is read as protection from one side and imprisonment from the other, and the dream's own feeling decides which. Being bound in iron is read as a constraint one is under, and the interpreters read the manner of release, not the binding, as the point.
This one rests on a plain text and needs no invention. The Qur'an names iron directly and gives it both senses at once: it was sent down, and in it is great might and benefits for people (al-Hadid 57:25) — a whole surah carries its name. Strength and usefulness are said in the same breath, which is why the readings run in two directions from a single material: it makes the tool and it makes the chain.
A dream of iron promises no wealth and warns of no imprisonment. It is not a ruling and settles no plan. Hard work, a heavy month, and worry about being stuck all produce this dream without any meaning being attached to it. If it left you heavy or afraid, the taught response is the one for any distressing dream: seek refuge in Allah, turn onto your other side, and do not speak of it.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
