The whole reading turns on whether the meat is cooked. Cooked meat, eaten at a table is read as lawful provision, a thing worked for and now enjoyed. Raw meat is the opposite reading throughout: something taken before it was ready, or words about people said behind them. Eating the flesh of a person you know is the sharpest form of that, and the older interpreters read it as backbiting, not as violence. Meat being distributed, or a slaughtered animal shared out, is read as a benefit that reaches several people rather than one, and is among the better readings. Rotten or foul-smelling meat turns toward gain that has spoiled, or a matter that should have been settled earlier. Buying meat and carrying it home is read as bringing a burden or a benefit into the house depending on its state, which is why the state of the meat matters more than the quantity.
This is one of the few dream symbols with a plain Qur'anic basis rather than an inherited association. In al-Hujurat 49:12 backbiting is put as a question: would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother. The image is direct enough that Arabic simply absorbed it, and eating people's flesh became ordinary speech for speaking ill of them. The dream books did not have to invent anything here; they read the image the language already carried.
A dream of meat is not a ruling about what you eat, not a verdict on anything you said, and not a sign about your health or anyone else's. Meat appears in dreams after a heavy meal, before Eid, and in hunger, and the tradition holds that much of what is seen in sleep is only the day repeating itself. If the dream disturbed you, seek refuge in Allah from its harm, change the side you are lying on, and do not tell it to others.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
