Milk is read by its source and its state. Fresh, clean milk drunk with pleasure is one of the strongest good readings in the whole field: knowledge that agrees with a person, lawful provision, and a return to what is sound in them. Milk that has turned or is mixed with something reverses it toward knowledge taken from a bad source, or provision with a doubt in it. Milk from a familiar animal — a cow, a goat, a camel — is read as ordinary lawful sustenance; milk from an animal not eaten was read badly by the older interpreters, as benefit sought where it should not be. Milking an animal is read as effort that draws out what was already there, which is how the interpreters read study and patient work. Giving milk to someone is teaching or providing for them. A child drinking milk is read as a matter being nourished at its beginning. Spilling milk was read as a benefit lost through carelessness rather than through anyone's malice.
Two things fix this reading. The Qur'an points to milk as a sign in itself — pure and palatable, brought out for people from between what the body discards and blood (al-Nahl 16:66) — so it is provision presented as something extracted clean from an unlikely place. And the tradition preserves that when the Prophet was offered milk and wine on the night journey he took the milk, and was told he had been guided to the fitrah, the natural disposition. That is why milk in this field means what is native, sound and unadulterated in a person.
A dream of milk is not a promise of provision or of a child, and it is not evidence about anyone's state or religion. It is not a ruling and not news of the future. Hunger, nursing, and worry about a child all produce it without any meaning attaching. If a dream unsettles you, seek refuge in Allah, turn onto your other side, and leave it untold.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
