Oil is read by its kind, its cleanliness, and what is done with it. Clear, pure oil, especially olive oil carries the settled favourable reading: blessing, ease and provision that spreads further than its quantity suggests. Anointing the head or body with oil was read as relief and comfort following a period of hardship, and as care taken of oneself after neglect. Oil that is spilled or wasted turns the reading toward a blessing squandered or an opportunity handled carelessly. Rancid, dark or foul-smelling oil is read badly: benefit sought from a source that will not nourish. Oil used for a lamp shifts the dream toward knowledge and guidance rather than toward wealth. Buying or selling oil, or storing a quantity of it, is read as arranging provision — an affair of livelihood rather than of the body.
The Qur'anic image is the anchor. In an-Nur 24:35 the lamp is lit from a blessed olive tree whose oil would almost give light of itself, and the verse is a parable of light upon light. That single passage ties oil to blessing and to illumination at once, which is why the same substance is read as provision when it is eaten and as guidance when it is burned. The plain fact of oil helps too: a small amount goes a long way, which is exactly what baraka means in Arabic usage — increase inside a small measure.
None of this is a ruling, and none of it is a promise of money or of healing. A dream of oil does not tell you a hardship is ending, and does not authorise a decision you were hesitating over. Cooking, fasting, illness and the smell of a house all feed the image without meaning anything. If the dream unsettled you, seek refuge in Allah from what you saw, turn onto your other side, and do not relate it.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
