Dua of distress

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

Transliteration

La ilaha illallahul-'Azimul-Halim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbul-'arshil-'azim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbus-samawati wa Rabbul-ardi wa Rabbul-'arshil-karim

Translation

There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.

Dua for worry and grief

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ، ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ، ابْنُ أَمَتِكَ، نَاصِيَتِي بِيَدِكَ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤُكَ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ... أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي

Transliteration

Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadik, madin fiyya hukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk... an taj'alal-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi

Translation

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed, and Your decree over me is just... Make the Quran the spring of my heart and the light of my chest.

Ahmad 1/391

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakil

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Transliteration

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal-wakil

Translation

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

Quran 3:173

Dua of Yunus in the darkness

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Transliteration

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin

Translation

There is no god but You. Glory be to You! Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers. (No Muslim supplicates with it for anything except that Allah answers him)

Remembrance brings tranquility

أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ

Transliteration

Ala bidhikrillahi tatma'innul-qulub

Translation

Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.

Quran 13:28

Dua for sudden calamity

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا

Transliteration

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un, Allahumma'jurni fi musibati wa akhlif li khayran minha

Translation

Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return. O Allah, reward me in my affliction and replace it for me with something better.

Dua at times of fear

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ

Transliteration

Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na'udhu bika min shururihim

Translation

O Allah, we place You before them, and we seek refuge in You from their evil.

Abu Dawud 1537

Dua for sleep when restless

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَظَلَّتْ... كُنْ لِي جَارًا مِنْ شَرِّ خَلْقِكَ كُلِّهِمْ جَمِيعًا

Transliteration

Allahumma Rabbas-samawatis-sab'i wa ma azallat... kun li jaran min sharri khalqika kullihim jami'a

Translation

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all they shade... be my protector from the evil of all Your creation.

Tirmidhi 3523

Salawat relieves worries

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

Transliteration

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammad, kama sallayta 'ala Ibrahima wa 'ala ali Ibrahim, innaka Hamidun Majid

Translation

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. (Whoever sends blessings, his worries are relieved)
