The eye is read by its condition and by what it sees. Clear, strong sight is the settled good reading: guidance, a religion in order, and the ability to tell one thing from another. Weak or clouded sight is read as confusion in exactly that place — not blindness of the body but a matter one is no longer seeing straight. Losing an eye the older interpreters read as the loss of something of one's own — a person, a support, a portion of what one had — and losing both as a heavier version of the same, not as a sentence about eyesight. Seeing with an extra eye, or seeing what others cannot, is read as insight given rather than earned. A wounded eye that heals is read as a lapse corrected. Watching someone else through their eye — seeing the world as they see it — shifts the dream onto that person and onto your judgement of them.
The Arabic ʿayn is one word for three things: the eye, a spring of water, and the very essence of a thing — you say the ʿayn of the matter for the thing itself. That breadth is why the symbol carries religion, insight and what is dear at once; the language put them together before any interpreter did. The Qur'an also uses the eye as an image of care and keeping — Musa was to be raised under His eye (Ta-Ha 20:39) — and the readings about protection follow from there.
A dream about the eyes is not a medical sign and is not a warning about your sight or anyone else's. It is not a ruling. Eye strain, a long night, and worry about a relative's health all produce it without meaning attaching. If a dream of this kind frightened you, the response taught is to seek refuge in Allah, turn onto your other side, and not to relate it.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
