A garden is read by what is in it, who owns it, and whether the dreamer is admitted. A green, watered garden with fruit on the trees is the settled good reading: a household in which there is blessing, or deeds that have begun to yield. A garden the dreamer walks in freely is read as ease within his own affairs; standing outside a garden he cannot enter as a good that is present but not yet his to take. Eating from its fruit is receiving the benefit; eating what is unripe is taking a thing before its time. A neglected garden, dry or overgrown with thorns reverses the reading toward a household or a work left untended. Watering or pruning a garden has been read as maintenance of the same — a marriage, a family, a habit of worship kept up rather than left. A garden belonging to someone known shifts the dream onto that person's state rather than the dreamer's.
This is one of the least invented symbols in the tradition, because the word does the work. Janna — the ordinary Arabic word for a garden — is the Qur'an's own word for Paradise, and the root carries the sense of something covered or screened by growth. The Qur'an describes gardens beneath which rivers flow as the standing image of reward, and it also uses the garden as a warning: the parable of the two owners of gardens in Surah al-Kahf (18:32-42) turns on a man who forgot who gave him his. Both faces — the blessing and the trust that can be lost — are in the source, so both are in the reading.
A dream of a garden is not a report on where anyone stands with Allah, and no one's outcome in the Hereafter is settled by what he sees asleep. It is not a ruling and not a prediction of any specific good arriving. The interpreters warned particularly against reading a pleasant dream as a guarantee. If a dream of this kind left you uneasy rather than reassured, the taught response is unchanged: seek refuge in Allah, turn onto your other side, and do not relate it.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
