A valley is read by what grows in it and by whether the dreamer is passing through or staying. A green valley with water is the settled favourable form: a stretch of life that provides while it is being crossed, and a passage that costs the traveller less than he feared. A dry, bare valley turns the reading toward a stage that must be got through without much help — not ruin, but effort without provision along the way. Descending into a valley was read as a lowering: a step down in circumstance or standing, which may be temporary and may be necessary. Climbing out of one reverses it and is read as coming through a period rather than escaping a danger. A valley that floods points to something arriving all at once in a place that was empty, and the older readings weighed whether the water settled or swept away. Being lost in a valley is read as being inside a stage whose end the dreamer cannot yet see.
The valley in the Qur'an is where things happen to people on their way. Ibrahim settles his family in a valley without cultivation in Ibrahim 14:37, and the provision that follows is asked for rather than found there. Musa is addressed in the sacred valley of Tuwa in Ta-Ha 20:12, where the ground itself is the setting of a turning point. The interpreters worked from that: a valley is a place passed through, low ground between heights, where what happens is decisive but not permanent.
This is not a forecast of travel, hardship or ease, and it is not a ruling on any decision you are weighing. A dry valley in a dream promises no drought in your affairs. Journeys planned, a hard season, landscape seen that day, and simple worry about what comes next all produce it unaided. If the dream frightened you, seek refuge in Allah from it, turn to your other side, and do not repeat it to anyone.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
