A veil is read by what it covers and by whether it is lifted. Wearing a veil, at ease in it is the favourable form, read as something the dreamer is rightly keeping to himself: a plan, a hardship, or a good deed not announced. A veil lifted by the wearer is read as a matter chosen to be disclosed. A veil pulled away by someone else is the harder form and is read as exposure the dreamer did not consent to, and the older interpreters attached it to a private matter becoming public rather than to shame. A veil so heavy the wearer cannot see through it reverses the reading toward concealment that has become a restriction on the person. Covering another person with a cloth or veil is read favourably throughout, as shielding someone from what would be said about them. A veil between the dreamer and something he is trying to see is read as a barrier in understanding rather than in relationship. A torn veil was read as a protection worn thin by use.
In Qur'anic Arabic the word hijab means a screen or barrier, not a headscarf; that specific garment is named separately in al-Nur 24:31. A screen is what stands between: a curtain in al-Ahzab 33:53, the partition Maryam took from her people in Maryam 19:17, the barrier between two groups in al-A'raf 7:46. So the dream symbol carries the sense of an interposed thing, which is why it reads as concealment and protection at once and why the question is always who placed it.
This dream is not a verdict on anyone's practice, not a rebuke, and not a sign about a woman's religion or a family's honour. It should never be repeated as though it were a comment on the person seen wearing it. It is not a ruling. If the dream distressed you, seek refuge in Allah from its harm, turn onto your other side, and do not relate it to anyone.

Dream interpretations are drawn from classical Islamic sources where one exists, and otherwise from general symbolism. They are guidance, never a ruling. Allah knows best.
